The Circle

When I created this website I was asked to enter a site logo, which I do not have, being no business but just little old me here. So I literally closed my eyes and tried to envision something. What came up as an image was a circle with a dot in the middle. Perhaps because this is the first symbol on my astrology class planet homework sheet representing the sun, or because I was always drawn to circles and spirals and labyrinths. Now curious I googled it and found the results fascinating:

The circle with a dot is a powerful, ancient symbol used to remind us that we are distinct individuals (the dot) existing within a unified, infinite whole (the circle). It symbolizes the journey from the singular point of origin (the seed) expanding into the infinite, unbounded potential of the circle.

Key Spiritual Meanings:

  • Unity and Wholeness (The Self): In Jungian psychology, the dot is the ego or individual, while the circle represents the greater "Self"—a balanced, whole human being.

  • The Divine Monad: Pythagoras and early Greek philosophers used this symbol to represent the first metaphysical being—the monad, or The Absolute. It is the beginning of all creation.

  • Source of Manifestation: It represents pure consciousness (the dot) manifesting into physical form (the circle). It is the seed of potential becoming existence.

  • The Creator and Creation: In many traditions, it symbolizes the Divine life-force (center) encompassing all of creation (circle).

So, there. I think it is a good omen for future postings to come
